Local Area Connection Status Dialog Does not appear

I have a working xpe image but after i create a shortcut to "Local Area Connection" on the desktop I don't get the "Local Area Connection Status" window when i double click it. There isn't an error or anything it just does nothing. I can right click on the icon in Network and Dial-up connections and bring up the properties page but I just can't seem to get the status page. Am i missing a component or a primitive?

Do you have the netshell component in your build?

I have been suffered from same trouble for almost 2 days.
My conclusion is that you have to enable the context menu on right mouse click to open Local Area Connection Status Dialog.
You can't open Local Area Connection Status Dialog by double clicking the icon unlike real XP Windows.
You should do right click on the icon and then click the property menu of context menu.
To do this go "User Interface Core/Settings" and check the " Show context menu on Shell folders".

    Good luck.

Re: Local Area Connection Status Dialog Does not appear

I have finally figured out the solution to your problem. I have been searching for months for a solution and found out that you need the following components in order for the Local Area Connection "Status" window to pop up:

    • CMD - Windows Command Processor
    • Network Command Shell
    • Network Command Shell Interface Context
    • IP Router Monitor Library
    • Home Networking Monitory Library (bridge context)
    • Network Diagnostics (diag context)
    • Remote Access Monitory (ras context)
    Hope that helps!
