    Reading Mobo Temperature

HI all and Happy Christmas to everyone.

I have a problem with my XPEmbedded configuration: when the system booted to XPPro I can run an utility (Everst) for benchmarking and monitoring tmeperatures. When I boot my board into XPE and run the same program it looks as if it can not access Temperature reading interface at the OS level.

The XPE config HAS included: all ACPI components, Windows Management Instrumentation Technologies, WMI components etc.

    any help? TIA.

    Hello Mo,

I would run Dependency Walker's Profiler on the monitoring application while its running on XPe. This should tell you what support files are missing that the application expects to be there. So, copy Dependency Walker to your XPe device. Launch depends.exe. Click File -> Open and browse to the executable for the monitoring utility. Next click Profile -> Start Profiling. Leave the profile options at the defaults and click OK. Take a look in the module pane for any missing modules.

    HTH,
    Brad

    Hello,

Does it help? Did you find any solution? We are experiencing the same issue. We need to monitor temperature on our machines. Is there any way how to do it?

     Thanks

    Hello Lada,

Have you looked at WMI to do this instead? I think the MSAcpi_ThermalZoneTemperature class will give you the current CPU temperature along with some other info. Make sure you include the necessary WMI components into your runtime image.

You may also try HWMonitor from the CPUID guys from here: http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php They also offer an API to roll your own utility for doing so.

Just have question about components. Intel(R)  Q965/Q963 Express Chipset Family

I created components for this including all files and registry keys, but during installation i get this ierrror from fbalog:

17:46:51 PM -  [PnpEnumThread: InstallDevice] SetupDiCallClassInstaller Error: 0x57, Device: Intel(R)  Q965/Q963 Express Chipset Family

drivers are working fine its just hardware manager  is showing error. Unknown devicr

    Probably  its just registry missing.
