Using dos command "mode" under XPE

First of all, hi to everybody, i'm new here, but I have already use this site before to "steal" suggestions and infortmation.

I've searched both the forum and some blogs but I didn't find an answer for my problem.

I have an XPE computer connected to a projector via serial port and I have a set of command, basically a mode command and then a type command to start and shutdown the projector with the computer. Those things works fine with a normal XP computer, but under XPE i can't find a way to make the "mode" command work.

If you type "mode" (without the ") in a command prompt it will show you the status of both com and LPT ports; under XPE it does nothing....

I think i've tried every single component related to dos and raw commands in Target designer but nothing helps.

    Can you help me?

    Thanks

    Hi Thespino,

I just want to verify that you have all the components you need. Did you include "Legacy DOS Utilities" which includes mode.com? If you have already included the component then something that may help is to run FileMon while you run mode from the command line. It may tell you what files are trying to be accessed and are missing. You can download FileMon and all the Sysinternal utilities here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896642.aspx All the Sysinternals tools are now owned by Microsoft. Smile

     Thanks a lot, really!

I managed to discover the problem was the missing "ureg.dll". That because I had both the file mode.com and ureg.dll in a folder with other dos commands but the ureg.dll was a 0 kb file.

Thanks really a lot again for your help.

    Greetings from Italy
