Hello,

I was watching a movie on my projector and after the movie finished, I turned off the projector and closed the lid of my laptop. After 20 minutes I returned to watch another one, I opened the lid of my laptop and there was no display on the LCD. I tried to get the LCD working by moving the mouse pointer, pressing some keys etc. but couldn't do it. I switched on the projector but there was no output from it. I had to forcefully shut the laptop down by pressing the power button for more than 6 seconds. And after I did that, there is no output from my projector ever since. I tried to connect the projector to my friend's laptop and I could get output from it. I have tried everything, even re installing the windows.

One last thing that I would want to mention is if i switch to 800X600 resolution, sometimes I can get the output from my projector, but the image flickers and doesn't stay for long.

Can anybody help me out on this???

Hello G,

This site is focused on Windows XP Embedded. It sounds like you are using another OS. There are probably more appropriate newsgroups to post your question.

That being said, most laptops have a hotkey that you can press to cycle between the built in LVDS screen and the external VGA port. Take a look to see what this key is for your laptop. It's probably something like Function + F5 or F6. Attach the projector and hit the hotkey combo a few times to see if you can get it to come up. Good luck.

Hey Brad, thanks for the reply.....I am sorry for using this forum to bring up this problem....I am using Win XP......Well I have tried everything from pressing the Fn key + CRT/LCD screen to reinstalling windows.........nothing seems to be working........now the company will be changing the motherboard on this thursday.....I hope it solves the problem........I am missing watching movies.......
