We have an XPe system that occasionally hangs during the boot process. The Splash screen goes to blank (as usual) and never goes to the desktop. This happens roughly 1 in 10 boots. It happens if the unit is shut-down normally or if hte power is just removed.
We have an XPe image from the box supplier, onto which we have loaded drivers for the IVC-200 video capture card and two ELO touchscreens. Boot is from a SanDisk Extreme III 2G compact flash card.
We have not used XPe before so do not know how to debug this situation. There are no error messages in the system logs and no error is shown on screen. We have removed and reinstalled the drivers (latest from the Website) but the problem remains.
Additionally (perhaps connected), sometimes when it does start mouse clicks seem to get lost, perhaps as focus is not where we expect. For example, we can open a .txt document from the desktop using the mouse, but them mouse over it and click and the click is ignored. The only way to get the document to react to the mouse is to to use alt-tab to activate it. Once working, mouse clicks seem to remain working for all applications until the next power cycle.
