    Shortcut in start Menu

    Hi everybody !

I would to put a shortcut in the start menu after installing a software. For example, at present, i'm trying to add vlc portable and i would at the end of the installation in the start menu to show a shortcut to launch my software.

    thanks for your help !

    Hello kenshi,

The easiest thing I can think of to suggest is to add the Standard Start Menu Shortcuts component to your build. Then, expand the component and click resources. In the right hand pane are all the standard start menu shortcut resources (hence the name). Take a look at how they are configured. Then in your component, basically create the same thing only change the target path to the binary and the icon (if necessary).

Here is an article on MSDN about shortcut resources: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms940136.aspx

I had no time to post a message but I managed to add a shortcut. I used the link which you give.

Thank you. It can help other people.
